Team Registration Step by Step
There are several steps to register for the BASIS Phoenix Mountain Bike Team.
Step 1. Register with the Arizona Cycling Association (ACA) as a member of the BASIS Phoenix Mountain Bike Team.
Step 2. Register with BASIS Phoenix Charter School by doing the following: a) Complete and return the required athletic packet. b) Login to Blackbaud School Account and pay for BASIS Phoenix Mountain Bike Program Registration Fees. (This will only be available after your student has been activated in the school system for the next school year, and the Additional Purchase Items are added to the Blackbaud system (Blackbaud’s Charter Services).
Step 3. Register for Mountain Bike Races with Arizona Cycling Association (ACA).
Step 4. Purchase Team Race Kit (Bibs/Jersey/Socks) through the online team store using the coupon code provided by Team Director.
Program and Fee Overview
BASIS Phoenix Mountain Bike Team: Total expense is approximately $400.
Fee Detail/Breakdown:
1) BASIS Phoenix Team Registration: $200 (School fee paid through Smart for Charters/ Blackbaud’s Charter Services).
2) Arizona Cycling Association Registration: $100 (paid directly to Arizona Cycling Association).
3) Race Registration (to compete in 4 XC MTB races: M.S. $100, H.S. $150 (paid directly to Arizona Cycling Association).
Preseason: July 1st
Registration Due Date: ASAP, contact MTB Team Director, Jeff Hunsinger for information on how to register jhunsinger@basismtb.com
1st Practice: August 1st (in person) Begin with indoor training at Cyclebar 2x week, along with one skills day on Thursday after school (meet at school).
End: Mid November
Practice Days: Monday (location TBD), Wednesdays (on campus; Aug. H.S. & M.S., Sept-Nov. H.S. only), Thursdays (on campus), and Sundays (off campus)
Practice Time: 4pm-6pm
Race Days: Weekends. (BASIS Phoenix is in the Northern Conference with M.S. and H.S. races taking place on 2 Saturdays and 2 Sundays. The H.S. Championship Race is on Sun.
Location: BASIS Phoenix for weekday practices; around the Valley for Sunday practices; and weekend races in Arizona.
Description: The Firebird Mountain Bike Team is a coed cross country racing team that competes against riders from across the state. We are looking for motivated 6-12 grade riders who want to challenge themselves physically and mentally as well as have some fun. Using some of the latest endurance sports techniques, we develop individual training and race plans as our riders compete against 70 teams and over 1200 riders in a 5 race series in the fall. We’ve set our sights on a podium finish for the team this season and we could use your help. No experience required. STEP 1: Arizona Cycling Association Registration Guide (Through CNN):
Registration for the team is managed by Arizona Cycling Association (ACA). The registration platform ACA uses is CCN. The steps for registration are as follows:
- Go to the CNN website https://ccnbikes.com/#!/memberships/arizona-cycling-association
- Select the Team BASIS Phoenix (drop-down menu for Student Athlete Registration)
- Click Register (button)
- Click Join Team after confirming details (button)
- Enter Pass Code: Contact Team Director for Team Pass Code to Register for the TEAM jhunsinger@basismtb.com (Code must be entered exactly including capital letters)
- Create CCN Account or log in
- Add membership/registration form (click link)
- Select Grade (Check the box and hit – NEXT)
Complete Questions for registration
- ENTER USAC # (enter this if you have one, leave it empty if you do not have a number)
- ENTER School Info
- ENTER Family Contact
- ENTER Emergency Contact Info
- ENTER Health Insurance Info
- Authorize Permission
- SIGN Injury Report Acknowledgment
- Review and Submit
- Complete and Proceed to Cart (button)
- Note: add to cart button was not functioning at time of testing. If you click the cart icon in the top right of the screen, it will advance to the next step.
- Add donation amount or Click OK to advance to the next screen without making a donation.
- Are you the parent of “Student Name” being registered? Select YES or NO
- Complete Participation agreement and Release of Liability Form – Click CONTINUE
- Enter Name – CONTINUE
- ENTER NAME – CONTINUE
- ENTER Credit Card Information and continue to PAY. This will complete your registration.
Step 2: BASIS Phoenix Charter School Team Registration – Smart for Charters
Athletics: 2022/2023 Athletics and 2022 Summer Camps
a) If you are interested in participating in athletics for the upcoming season complete the BASIS Athletic Packet 2023 and hand in to the front office or email to Danielle Green at danielle.green@basised.com school. Packet must be 100% Completed.
b) Login to Blackbaud School Account (Blackbaud’s Charter Services) and pay for BASIS Phoenix Mountain Bike Program Registration Fees. This registration option will only be available after your student has been activated in the school system for the next school year, and Additional Purchase Items are added to the Blackbaud system by BASIS.
ALL NEW HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES MUST ALSO TAKE THE OPIOID EDUCATION AND THE BRIANBOOK TRAINING VIDEOS BEFORE TRYOUTS AS WELL. YOU CAN FIND THOSE TRAININGS HERE: https://academy.azpreps365.com/ (returning high school athletes do not need to retake them).
Step 3: Arizona Cycling Association Race Registration (Through CCN)
Go to the CCN website https://ccnbikes.com/#!/memberships/arizona-cycling-association\ and register for the races. Registration and payment for all races at one time is the most efficient and cost-effective way to register. After registering, you will receive a race plate with your name for use in all races.
STEP 4: Order Team Race Kit
After registration is complete you will be provided with information on how to order your Team Race Kit. As part of your registration fee, the team will provide you with a code to order your team race bibs, jersey and socks in your size. This coupon code covers the expense for the race kit. The Team Director will supply you with your code after registration.
